Smoking is an addiction, the faster you finish it the more chances are it will ultimately finish you. Smoking start with being a fun thing and then progresses to become a bad habit having the ability to kill you, it is suicide, a slow suicide. If you can quit smoking then nothing better than that but you do not want to then it is advised that things like milk thistle extract, hawthorne berry, dandelion root, mullein leaf, ginger root, anise, elecampane, vitamin C, ginkgo biloba herbal extracts, astragalus root, cat's claw concentrate and others be consumed so that you allow the organs and body systems to live and not kill them with the inhaling smoke.

For those have manage to look into the mirror and confess that they need to change this habit slowly and gradually there are good herbs that will take you a promising but tough path of completely leaving the habit. Here below are such herbs and how to take the medications to improve chances of quitting smoking.

AVENA SATIVA: This herb hit the nail right on the head; it stops anxiety, depression and insomnia. Its utility can be gauged by the fact that it comes in handy to negate opium addiction. Better-researched studies have shown that its effectiveness makes it a recommended herb for sinking the wish for nicotine.

LOBELIA: Lobelia has an active ingredient called lobeline that is quite helpful in the after effects of quitting smoking. Lobeline has the power to raise neurotransmitter dopamine levels in the brain same as found in cigarettes. This herb has toxic potential therefore any use should be under then complete supervision a qualified doctor. The repercussions could lead to dry mouth, nausea, profuse sweating, diarrhea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, tremors, coma, confusion, convulsions and if there is a large dose consumed it can even lead to death.

GARCINIA CAMBOGIA: This is chiefly an herb of Ayurved. Contents are hydro-citric acid that helps negate sugar cravings & also helps us avoid overeating that usually comes at a time when nicotine supply is reduced.

GINSENG: Release of neurotransmitter dopamine induced through nicotine is stopped by Ginseng.

GOTU COLA: This too is an Ayurvedic herb. Gotu Cola helps the brain & neverous system function properly. By raising mental clarity, supporting brain functions and enhancing memory it help in the after effects of withdrawal. Recently there have been finding that prove that there is better cerebral blood flow & general circulation also improves, and overall much better supply of oxygen to brain to function properly.

ST. JOHNS WORT: Nothing concrete to suggest that it helps prevent smoking but a few newer studies have reported it to be highly successful in withdrawal symptoms. Though there is nothing to confirm its existence. Consumption must not be mixed with anything else as it has reactions to antidepressants; HIV infections drugs, and AIDs, Organ rejections drugs, & oral contraceptives. Pregnant women should avoid St. John's wort and children as well people suffering from kidney disease, bipolar disorder or liver should stay away.

Its not that just herbal medications can help you from quitting smoking, there are other solutions too. Hypnotherapy, Acupuncture & behavioral therapies are few of the other sources that you might like to explore.
